About: Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital

The family of our late mother would like to thank all of the staff, especially ward 9, for the excellent care she received at your hospital.

It was clear to see the ward was very busy but her condition and treatment was explained to us patiently and thoroughly. No question was too trivial and nothing too much trouble.

Their professionalism, kindness and compassion gave us the feeling that there was nowhere else we would have wanted to be at the end of a very wonderful life.

Dear Lynne,

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your precious Mum. I really do hope that the love within your family and collective memories of her wonderful life, lived to the full, offers some comfort to you at this very sad time.

I was very moved by your note - partly because it's not that long since I lost my beautiful Mum - but mainly because I was so pleased that you can reflect on your Mum's care on ward 9 and conclude that there was nowhere else you would have wanted her to be.

What a special observation. I'm really not sure that there can be many jobs in healthcare that are more important than this? Can you?

Working in the NHS brings an enormous privilege to be with families at critical moments in their lives - your experience speaks volumes about the ward 9 team & their commitment to professionalism, kindness and compassion. Thanks so much for allowing them to know what a difference they made for you and your Mum.
