"How my life was saved."

About: The Maidstone Hospital / Accident and emergency

I was admitted to A&E in the early part of March with serious health problems because it was critical they transferred me to ICU the treatment I received in ICU was the best I could ask for and because it was touch and go for a week they put my wife in a side room so she could be with me if or when I past away because they werent expecting me to get through the first twenty fours hours I was in ICU.Then I was transferred to Cornwallis but because I took a turn for the worst they then transferred me to John Day Ward where the staff were the best they actually got me to start eating and really helped with me getting better and being able to go home which my wife and family which I didnt expect to happen. Also the doctors and consultants from a&e through to John Day ward are a credit to the hospital and NHS Service .

Dear Mr Long, thank you for taking the time to review the service you received from a number of different wards at Maidstone Hospital.

We were delighted to learn of your recovery and that you felt so well supported and cared for by the staff involved.

We have shared your kind comments with the wards identified.

Kind regards, The PALS Team.
