"Thank you to nurse who held my hand and wiped my tears"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

I attended hairmyers hospital for colposcopy treatment. Before going in I was extremely nervous and during the procedure I had a bit of a melt down.

All of the NHS staff who dealt with me were amazing but my main thank you is to nurse who held my hand and wiped my tears the entire time. She was absolutely amazing and is a credit to her profession.

I don't think we give nurses the credit they are due, but this lady today whose name I never caught unfortunately, needs a massive amount for dealing with my panic today in such a caring and downright amazing way.

Dear A nervous panic ridden woman,

Please be reassured we all have moments like this (at least one meltdown per week in my case) and it is wonderful to hear you were comforted by our fantastic nursing staff.

We try to provide a caring and compassionate service with people at the heart of all we do and I'm delighted the staff were able to help you at this difficult time.

I'll pass on your post to the staff involved and share your lovely reflections.

Kind Regards

Gwen
