"Prompt, professional - thank you"

About: Northern General Hospital / Accident and emergency

My thanks to the doctors and staff - I was seen reasonably promptly, and had tests and results back equally promptly - 5 hours in total from arrival to leaving including blood tests and some repeated BP checks, for a non-painful issue is perfectly reasonable for a visit to A&E - of course it helps if you have the chance, to pack a good book and just enjoy the downtime while you wait.

I just hope the professional and friendly doctor who saw me doesn't develop hypertension themselves as they seemed to be dashing around and overworked - that's not a criticism of the hospital or the NHS - somehow the NGH manages to keep doing a sterling job despite ever more obstacles and restrictions put in their way

My one negative observation is the state of the toilet near the exit, for a medical establishment they were poor with no soap and filthy seat (mind you if some patients were grown up enough to use a toilet properly that wouldn't be an issue!)

Dear Alan

Thank you for leaving feedback and sharing your experience. Your kind and positive words will mean a great deal to the staff involved, as they do strive to provide high quality care and treamtent and as you say, at times this is in the face of challenging circumstances.

Thank you also for raising concerns about the toilets, I am sorry you found them in this state. This will be passed onto the appropriate staff to ensure this area is reviewed.

With thanks and kind regards
