"Hard to get appointments without disrupting school"

About: Ipswich Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as a parent/guardian),

I booked my son in with the only non school timed appointment in the day. My son has an ehcp and we have numerous appointments at various hospitals, Ipswich hospital is very good at supporting my son. We try hard to minimise taking him out of school to minimise disruption to him but find orthotics to be hard to manage. The orthotist said they need time on the wards, please can I suggest this could happen in the middle of the day to allow some later appointments for children at school? I feel sad for my son as he greatly enjoys school and ended up with another late mark, even with my careful planning.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments. I have passed this onto the teams in both in outpatients and the team who book appointments who I am sure that will take your comments on board. I am sorry for any inconvenience the times of the appointments has caused you.
