"Delay for ENT referal"

About: Royal Hospital for Children and Young People (Edinburgh) / Ear, Nose & Throat

(as a parent/guardian),

My 3 year old was referred to ENT in  2016 reguarding his tonsils and adenoids. This is now March 2017 and he has serious speech delay and possible developmental delay with the disrupted sleep he encounters due to the obstructive breathing he experiences.

I feel like this is utterly ridiculous and in my view downright negligence to children waiting for this vital service. I will be taking this further.

Dear Dangerous waits

I am very sorry to hear about the length of time your son has had to wait for his referral to ENT, I can only imagine how difficult this must be for you both.

I have shared your feedback with the team at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children who were saddened to hear of your experiences with your son. We would like to look into this for you I would be grateful if you can contact the Patient Experience Team to see how we can help you with this. The team can be contacted by:
