I had my son last year at Aberdeen Maternity Hospital. I was induced and gave birth in the labour ward. The midwives in there were absolutely fantastic and even though it lasted about 20 hours, they were so supportive and even had me laughing through out the experience.
It was not plain sailing, but they kept me informed of everything that was happening at all times. I had one midwife and one student midwife who stayed with me for the whole of their shift, they often ran late for their breaks but not once did this affect their temperament. I could not have asked for better support or treatment throughout.
My little boy then spent a week in the neonatal unit, and the nurses there were also incredible. Going out of their way to ensure we felt supported and my son was comfortable at all times. They even made me a Mother's Day card wth a picture of my son on it. I spent lots of time on the ward day and night, and every single nurse was so lovely.
I could not fault any of the staff I came across in either of these wards and they could not have done more to support us during our stay there.
