"Care and attention of staff"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / General surgery (Wards 9a, 9b, 9c & 9d)

(as the patient),

Admitted after midnight Tuesday 14/2 AE triaged, seen by consult Dr Long, who explained what was going to happen after he examined me..Nursing staff took good care, administered pain relief. My husband stayed with me until pain settled and sickness eased. Dr Long continued to check on me, told necI was being admitted, suspected gall stones, bilary colic.

I was moved to ACRU5, nurses introduced themselves, all had hello my name is..badges on. Late afternoon saw surgeon who said to continue with drip(5bags in total). Scan arranged for next day. Nurses constantly monitoring my vitals. Student nurses always knocked before entering room.

Surgeons checked me in morning, said I could go home after scan. Any treatment would be as outpatient. The radiographer explained what she was doing throughout scan. Told me no obvious stones present. Once Dr wrote discharge letter I left. My room was spotless, staff were all caring and competent. Dr's explained what they were doing. I was scared on admission but felt secure once under the care and attention of the staff.
