"Inability to obtain appointment"

About: Locala Community Partnerships CIC / Podiatry

(as the patient),

Have been waiting for a podiatry referral & appointment for 3yrs since I was first diagnosed diabetic

Finally got a letter from Locala Podiatry Service

Rather frustratingly cannot get through via your telephone service despite ringing on different days and times

Dear Rafiq

I am sorry you are having trouble contacting us. Can I just check that you are using our Single Point of Contact telephone number, you can contact a member of the team 24 hours a day on 0300 304 5555.

If your GP has confirmed that you are ‘at risk’ you should have been sent a letter asking you to contact our Podiatry team to make an appointment for foot screening. Not everyone with diabetes is diagnosed as 'at risk' and therefore eligible for podiatry services.

I hope you are able to contact the team and make an appointment - if not then please do let me know.

Hi Sarah

Yes I have tried calling the number you mention

And yes I was referred by my GP and I do have the letter asking me to contact the Podiatry service and despite my efforts I have not been able to get through

If it is easier I can come to the clinic to book an appointment

It is a pity that Locala has failed to respond to my last comment and more importantly the issue re podiatry appointment remains unresolved

Hi Rafiq

I am sorry to hear you haven't been able to contact anyone about an appointment. This is a 24 hour telephone service and we've not had any other issues with calls not being answered.

If you still haven't been given an appointment please send me your telephone contact details and I will ask one of the team to call you.
