"My daughter and the fantastic care she had from all staff"

About: Royal Blackburn Hospital / Accident and emergency Royal Blackburn Hospital / Neurology Royal Blackburn Hospital / Respiratory medicine

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter was rushed into the resus department with a serious infection in her brain (shes 21 years old), the staff in resus were absolutely fantastic with her that I cant thank them enough, everything was explained to myself and her dad and youngest sister on what they were doing etc etc, she spent 6 days in the critical care unit and was cared for once again by some fantastic doctors nurses and hca, from critical care she was then moved to ward c6, which is a ward for people with breathing problems but this was the only place where there was a bed available, she spent 11 days on the ward and the care she got was brilliant all of the nurses, went above and beyond to look after our daughter and nothing was any trouble at all, she has now been moved to rakehead rehab in burnley, we have a long way to go yet before she is better but we will get there, please pass on our thank you's to all that looked after her.

Thank you so much for your feedback regarding your family's experience at Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital and thank you for taking the time to do so.

It is lovely to receive such positive feedback about the care your daughter received from critical care and ward C6 and her continued rehabilitation at Rakehead.

I will ensure your comments are passed onto the team who will be delighted to receive such wonderful feedback as they always strive to deliver safe, personal & effective care.

If you would like to provide us with further information about the care provided then we would really value this so that we can try to make it like this for every patient visiting our hospitals and services.

You can either contact me (Sarah Ridehalgh) on 01254 734471 or by email at patientexperience@elht.nhs.uk.
