"Great department, shame about the lack of..."

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital / Rheumatology

I've only attended this hospital once as I've recently moved into the area.

I have found the staff here far more helpful than my last hospital in Surrey.

I've now been correctly diagnosed with a form of arthritis and prescribed medication, after years of two-froing at my last hospital.

However, the appointments available are few and far between.

I've had to cancel an appointment in mid march because I simply cannot get the time of work (in Central London) to attend.

When I rang the appointment line to inform them, I've been told 'the next available appointment is first week of September...'

My last (and one and only) appointment was Aug 2015.

So I'm now waiting a total of 13 months for follow up....

Let's just hope my joints stay together until then..

Dear Michelle 389

I am please to hear that you have found the staff helpful and that you have now been correctly diagnosed.

However, I am sorry to note the problem you have experienced with your follow up appointment. We would welcome the opportunity to look into this for you.

If you contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) at PHT.Pals@porthosp.nhs.uk or via the free phone on 0800 9176039 and give them details they will be happy to try and help.

Kind regards.

Debbie
