"Getting a GP appointment"

About: NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde

(as the patient),

I broke my collar bone while on holiday. (Skiing so you could say self inflicted! ) Upon my return I just needed to organise a prescription for pain killers and maybe physio. I phoned the Crescent Medical Practice three days in a row at 8: 45 before I was offered any appointment, even though I would have taken later in the week.

It is not possible to email or book online.

I work in a small team in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde which seeks to involve patients and carers in the work of the NHS. The biggest part of my role is in managing feedback projects across the Board area, one of which is Patient Opinion. It is my job to give our patients and carers the opportunity to give us feedback, and to make sure that this is passed to the right people to help us improve the services we provide.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear that you had difficulty in arranging a GP appointment. I trust that you have now been seen by the GP to resolve the issues. We do have appointments that can be booked in advance (about two thirds of our appointments) some of which are bookable online. We are keen for patients to use online booking. If online booking is of interest to you please register for this with the practice by contacting the surgery, to request your personal registration details. You can request this in person at the reception desk or by email to mary.freel@nhs.net
