"Gynaecology department"

About: Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Yesterday, 6th Feb I was discharged from Gynaecology into the care of my surgery at Camrose Medical Partnership after having had a laparotomy on 13th December 2016. It took less than 8 weeks from my Doctors request for further investigation to having my surgery.

Absolutely first class.

I want to thank both my doctors for their amazing care through this difficult time.

No stay in hospital is great because of the stress and the unknown but this was an experience that I will never forget for very good reasons. From the first diagnosis, decisions to be made, the actual day of my operation, to the after care on the ward I could not have wished for a better FIRST CLASS experience. It has been positive all the way through.

I am also so grateful to both of my doctors for respecting my request for Bloodless surgery.

In all this I would also like to mention the Anaesthetic team who also played a very important roll as my life was also in their hands, so a big thank you to the team. They are so kind and thoughtful as they understood how scared I was.

All nursing staff on the Women's health care ward on the second floor of the Sherborne wing were also amazing.

Nothing was too much trouble. Their care and kindness will never be forgotten.

I do not mention names as they are a fantastic team.

Also, a huge Thank You to the NHS Trust of the Basingstoke North Hants Hospital for allowing such an amazing hospital to take care of us in such a loving, caring way considering all the negative press.

To me the NHS is the best thing ever, and it should not be taken for granted EVER.

It will always be treasured by me and my family for years too come.

Finally, it has to be mentioned that the Catering kitchen do a sterling job.

Although I was not up to eating for a few days, once I did, I enjoyed tasty and enjoyable meals. Anna who took our choices from the menu is so a darling, caring lady.

An asset to the Catering team.

So, in short, A HUGE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE

Glenda McIntosh - Basingstoke.

Thank you for your feedback regarding our gynaecology services. I am always pleased to read heartfelt comments, like yours, on the care and treatment patients have received. I have shared these kind words with the teams involved, who I am sure, will be delighted and greatly encouraged by them.

Dr Andrew Bishop, Interim Chief Executive
