"Staff managed the ward well and we appreciated this"

About: Locked & Specialist Rehab / Ashby Ward

The ward has been up and down all week. Certain patients have been unsettled and winding each other up and staff managed the situation as best as they could. They opened up the rooms so those patients that were not involved could avoid any further confrontation. This was really helpful.

Staff have managed the ward well despite being low on staffing levels. We had a movie night, cooking sessions and group trips out to Weston Favell, organised by the activities co-coordinator and OTs.

Thank you for letting me know. It's great for the staff to have some positive feedback and know that their attempts to keep the ward safe whilst looking after others needs is acknowledged. It sounds to me that you understand that everyone can have bad days but you just want to get on with your day as best you can. I am pleased that staff have been able to support that.

Please be reassured that we look at staffing every single day and look at any issues ahead. Sometimes wards have to support each other and this can be difficult.

I am pleased to hear that the Activity Co-ordinator has been a positive and beneficial addition to the team
