I have recently had to make a visit to our new DVT clinic twice in the space of 2 months. First reason was due to a similar pain I had when I first had a blood clot. I didn't get a GP referal as I wasn't aware I had to but the friendly staff there saw me anyway. I had my bloods taken and was scanned within 20 minutes.
The second time I was refered by my GP due to an insect bite. I personally thought it would be a waste of time going but I got an urgent call asking me to go to get checked out. Again, the staff were very friendly and I was scanned within 5 minutes.
On both occasions I was happy with the service although, it may just have been me, but sometimes I felt they thought I may be wasting their time, which isn't really what you want as it might put you off going again. However, overall I think this new service is a brilliant idea and a much better investment than the NHS have bought!
