"Lack of communication and understanding"

About: West London NHS Trust

(as the patient),

Having now spoken to 12 people within this team, only one has actually read my notes, listened to me and appears to have had the slightest understanding of mental health - but of course you only see that person once before being passed on. The others have a preconceived view of how you should present going by the diagnoses you have (two of which have been made by someone who spoke at you for half an hour, and have not actually been tested or confirmed), then when you don't present as they expect they don't believe you can be feeling/ acting how you do. So you get passed on to the next person, who again won't read your notes or listen to you. Then you are told they can't offer you anything, and are told your only option is to go privately. So you do, to be told by a private clinician that you are so complex with high needs that for them to be able to do the proper therapy, you need a full team around you. So you're referred back to WLMHT, but they don't read the new referral and refuse to listen to or talk to the private clinician (who is the only person who actually listens and gets you). So you spend over a year being passed around, and leave each appointment feeling worse and more unsafe. So no, I don't think I can really give one positive bit of feedback.
