Briefly (but there is a whole lot more to this story! ) On a Friday night , my mom was seen by a dr (after calling NHS24) at ERI, who organised for her to be taken by ambulance to W Gen hosp. we arrived at the A and E ( trolleys) area about 10. 15pm, after a long wait she was admitted to base 2 at about 3. 15am Sat morning. Her treatment here was ok, staff pleasant.
She was moved to a ward on Tuesday night at 11pm! ( this is an old lady, recovering from broken hip, with pneumonia ). Again she was looked after kind of ok, everyone pleasant, bloods, X Ray, CT scan etc done but no continuity of care and very little info and she didn't seem to be getting better.
Anyhow, yesterday, at 4am in morning she woke needing the loo and asked for a commode, which was refused. she was escorted to toilet using her walker and fell in the toilet and now has a fractured femur!
"mom admitted for chest infection ......."
