My partner and I went to the gynaecology clinic at BRI for first line of investigation for our problems conceiving. Anyone attending this clinic would, to an extent be emotionally vulnerable; an emotion exacerbated by the fact the appointments are held in the Maternity unit!
We had the misfortune to be seen by a doctor whose approach I felt typified the view that health is something you have done to you, not something you are a partner in. In my view they displayed no emotional intelligence and made comments which I would only expect from someone with absolutely no empathy. They were certainly not appropriate in the circumstances.
Three weeks later I am still very angry and upset by my whole experience and feel that I have no confidence in the service. I am not sure whether I want to continue having had such a bad experience.
