I have just been in hospital last week for day surgery and then overnight on the 23 hour bed ward. i received fantastic service from all the staff in the day surgery at Stobhill Hospital and then on the ward
my operation was straight forward a Laperoscopy to remove ovarian cyst and also a look around to see what further surgery would be required.
i was then transferred to 23 hour bed unit and i was treated with respect at all times, unfortunately for me I had a problem with my bladder and could not pass urine the nurses who had to use a catheter to relieve me were brilliant at respecting my dignity and at reassuring me that this sometimes does happen helping me to relax i did end up having to go home with a catheter although i was upset by this they again helped me to relax and got me an early appointment for two days later to work on retraining my bladder.
the nurses were really busy but still had time to reassure patients and to attend to every need with respect privacy and dignity being first and foremost in there care,
i know that the NHS does get a lot of bad press but i have received the best service thank you to all involved in any part of my care.
"Praise for the workers of the NHS at Stobhill Hospital"
