Having had a good consultation with my orthopaedic consultant detailed in previous posting I went to see my GP after the offending knee played up really badly on couple of occasions. Although I had remembered the main points of the consultation about the likely future behaviour of my knee I wanted to have a discussion with the GP about why I had had two painful episodes. Unfortunately the GP had only half a letter from the consultant and it transpired that something had gone wrong at the hospital end and the necessary information getting to the GP. I waited a couple of weeks and the consultant duly then had a look at scan and wrote to GP which allowed a very meaningful and informative discussion to ensue. I left quite happy that both GP and Consultant had involved me in my condition, and I was happy with way forward, albeit a bit frustrated with the glitch in the system and the wait.
