"A pleasant experience"

I arrived at the Day Surgery Unit at Nothern General Hospital at 7.45am. I booked into reception and everyone I met was very friendly. They took swabs to check for MRSA at about 8.30am

I walked into the operating theatre around 9.00am and met the surgical team. All were very chatty and relaxed. I was given local anaesthetic to my temple and also over my left collar bone where skin was to be removed.

After 10-15 minutes they started the procedure and after 45 minutes they were finished. At no time did I feel any pain and the surgeon was chatting to me all the time, so I was not aware of time.

I then walked round to a rest room where I had a cup of tea and biscuits, and after 10 minutes walked through to reception to meet my wife once more.
