"Excellent care from staff in MIU and Ambulatory Care"

About: Solihull Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

Recently diagnosed with auto immune hepatitis, I woke with a large red swelling on my calf and thought I may have a thrombosis.

Managed to arrange appointment with my GP the same day who arranged for me to go straight to Solihull hospital. They were waiting for me when I arrived.

Examined, had blood tests, received results and given anticoagulant injection. Unable to have scan as it was Friday evening and the department had closed but I was telephoned first thing Monday morning with scan time. I had to revisit the hospital on Saturday and Sunday evening for further injections.

The staff were amazing, particularly a sister called Emma. She was patient, reassuring, friendly and very helpful. Each time I visited the hospital she was on duty and I began to wonder if she ever went home!

Thank you to everyone concerned for their care and support. Our NHS is WONDERFUL when you are really ill. It is only the time wasters who spoil it. I have always received outstanding care.

Dear bilbobaggins

Many thanks for your feedback regarding your care and treatment at Solihull Hospital's Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) and Ambulatory Care. I am so pleased to read that you were assessed promptly, treated appropriately with follow up treatment arranged over the weekend, up until your scan could be carried out.

Thank you for your comments regarding the staff, in particular one of the Sisters; Emma. I will ensure that your kind comments are forwarded to the Lead Nurse and Matron for MIU and Ambulatory Care who will communicate your feedback to all of the team who work very hard ot provide a positive patient experience.

I hope my actions are acceptable, and once again thank you for taking the time to post your feedback, it is very important to us.

Kind regards

Marie Helebert
