What I liked

I liked the day day surgery staff and theatre satff other than that..... nothing

What could be improved

well for one... i had a tonsillectomy which comsultant stressed i must be on regular pain relief every 4 hours... yet i had to ash constantly, then i was very distressed and in alot pain as i waited over 6 hours for some.... I got my obs taking at 6.10am which said i has low blood pressure yet i never had them taking again before i was discharged at 4.40pm?????

Anything else?

i was on ward 32 ... an old person opposite me urinated and dirtying on the floor i pressed for a nurse it took 15 minutes for someone to answer the buzzer and then when they did they said that they were busy and will come back...40 minutes later later a staff nurse seen it and walked away then the assistant who answered the buzzer eventually came back in the mean time the patient had also dirtied on the chair...i find this absolutly disgusting and so un hygienic!

I have taken your comments to the Matron responsible for the Surgical Division who agrees that your experience has been totally unacceptable and she will be investigating your concerns.

As a matter of interest, you may be interested to know, as a Trust we collect patient experience feedback in various ways.

The Matrons carry out ward surveys every month to find out the views of in patients. We also carry out a variety of postal surveys, some being Trust wide and some, more specifically for wards and departments. Action plans are developed and reviewed to ensure improvements are made where necessary.
