"Reception staff were friendly ..."

About: Frenchay Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

Reception staff were friendly and helpful and obviously worked well as a team; x-ray staff were helpful and understanding.

What could be improved

Higher seating in the reception area for visitors that are unable to use low chairs; having to stand for four hours was very uncomfortable and painful.

Anything else?

We were made to feel like complete idiots and nuisances by the staff that saw us on our second visit; x-rays showed that there was a big problem that needed to be dealt with asap but we were fobbed off with almost total disinterest by the staff and spoken to as though we were stupid. We had to go to another hospital who told us that surgery was needed asap as the foot was turning purple/black due to lack of blood flow. If we had followed Frenchay's advice the foot could well have suffered irreversable damage.
