What I liked
The equipment seemed up to date. The nurse/?healthcare assistant seemed quite caring.
What could be improved
I attended for an internal scan in outpatient gynaecology. The person doing the scan didn't introduce themselves, tell me their role or what the purpose of the procedure was. They didn't explain to me what they were seeing on the scan and I had to specifically ask for a copy of the information they were going to send to my GP.
I'm sure that clinically the staff are excellent but it was not a very patient-centred experience. It was a very busy clinic but it would extend the appointment minimally, if at all, for the practitioner to understand that attending these appointments can be quite intimidating and invasive, so that putting people at their ease and sharing information with them would contribute to better outcomes.
Anything else?
Things might have changed since I was last there - I hadn't realised this feedback area was available or I'd have commented sooner. Fingers crossed anyway as I think I have to go back again :-)
