" Northampton SCBU revisited"

About: Northampton General Hospital (Acute) / Paediatrics

(as the patient),

Everybody has their own opinion of hospitals, sometimes bad but many times good. My first grandson was born 12 weeks early (sept 06) weighing 2lb 10oz. He went into Northampton SCBU (Special Care Baby Unit). Considering he was born very early the nurses gave my son and daughter in law good news on how he will develop in the next few weeks. It was a shock to see how small he was but I had every confidence in the SCBU. My grandson left hospital after 11 weeks of care weighing 5lb. He is now 14 months old and weighs 25lb. All credit to the SCBU for the care and attention given to our wonderful little man.

After the first experience of the SCBU we couldn't believe our son and daughter in laws luck to give birth to our granddaughter 9 weeks early weighing 3lb15oz (nov 07). She is only 11 days old, but as before I have every confidence in the SCBU. My son and daughter in law have a good understanding on how the SBCU works, they are also sharing their previous experience with new mums and dads. Top marks to Northampton SCBU and I would like to thank all the staff who are dedicated to provide a superb service for our future generations.

Thank you.
