"I attended the eye casualty dept ..."

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I attended the eye casualty dept following difficulties with my vision. From the initial triage I was seen swiftly be staff and saw the consultant within 30 minutes of walking in. I was told I would need to be kept in and operated on the following morning. Clearly this was unexpected but all the staff were tremendous in terms of managing my shock and anxiety. I was given the option of general anaesthetic or local with some sedation. Opting for the later the operation was pain-free and the after care was first class. I was discharged the following day and have been able to access telephone advice from the specialist nurses which I found very reassuring over a particular concern.
