"Gynae Appointment"

About: Tameside General Hospital / Gynaecology

I have endometriosis and had an appointment at the women's Health Unit to see the gynaecologist and waited over 2 hours to see a doctor who was not helpful or supportive and basically asked what I wanted, they didn't examine me when I said that the pain was different than before and I felt more pressure on my right side, I mentioned my past history at Macclesfield hospital and the recent MRI that I had at stepping hill but chose to ignore these results and only went off what they found in February (which at the time was little amount of endometriosis on my ovaries and womb), The doctor basically said to take more pain killers... (Even though I'm taking Paracetomol and tramadol and had been on Zoladex) and was still in a lot of pain!! so as you can imagine I wasn't happy when I left the room and then insisted on seeing the consultant. well even the consultant was the same, eventually when I became annoyed and insisted that the pain was very different and the increased in pressure on the right side was different, they then reluctantly sent me for an ultra sound (I think just so I would leave the room!!) anyway I went for an ultrasound and the sonographer was very very helpful and sympathetic and discovered that I had two cysts on my ovary, and that I actually had adenomyosis on my pelvic muscle, outer womb and also it had penetrated to inside my womb through the tissue and they could understand why I am in so much pain!! I cried at the thought that I had something concrete to show that I was not making this up and the pain I had was different than before and I wasn't going mad as that is how the two doctors on that day made me feel. Hopefully now when they get these results will do something other than pack me off with pain killers. I was so so annoyed as the doctors I had seen previously to these two were great and seemed to understand the condition but these two were useless and made me feel like I was making out the pain was more worse than it actually was... well read the Ultra sound and now tell me I'm making it up!! I have been referred now to a doctor who I believe understands both of the conditions very well and is more understanding and a great consultant to be under (and that came from a few people i spoke with) so hopefully this doctor will help me feel better or actually give me advise or even a hysterectomy so I can be pain free and get my life back again as I have suffered with endometriosis since I was 21yrs and now i am 42yrs and have been confirmed with having adenomyosis as well which does seem a lot more painful and harder to cope/live with. I have two young children and want to be able to do fun things with them but at the moment I feel so low, in pain and miserable keep feeling like this.
