I recently had to undergo surgery to help with my incontinence. I had a supra-pubic catheter fitted through my stomach into my bladder. But unfortunately was discharged from hospital with absolutely no advice or information on what I now needed in the way of medical supplies or the care of my new appendage.
I struggled by, cutting and sewing underwear and pieces of elastic. Then the continence product service got in touch with me and has proved to be a godsend.
I was invited to join a group of patients they have set up to discuss our needs and give us the advice and an opportunity to learn what other products are out there that may be of use to us that we would not otherwise get to know about and give them a try.
The first meeting was a fantastic success, I felt comfortable and at ease as everyone there was in the same or very similar situation as myself. Everyone that attended learnt many new things, and we all look forward to the next meeting.
I believe they are based at Rotherham Community Health Centre, Greasbrough Road, ROTHERHAM, South Yorkshire, S60 1RY.
Their number is 01709 423240/01709 423369 if you need any advice or help in any way give them a call and you will be treated with absolute respect and professionalism by Laura Shepherd, Administrator/Clerical Officer.
Thanks to you all.
