"Parking fine of £100 for colonoscopy"

About: Emersons Green NHS Treatment Centre

I had a colonoscopy at Longwell Green. I arrived at time specified and parked in the NHS car park whilst I had a colonoscopy. This morning I received a letter saying I am fined £100 for parking there. How disgusting that the NHS is fining sick people £100 for parking in a NHS car park. I am complaining to whoever will listen, it is abhorrent. Happy Christmas! Not.

We are sorry to hear that you incurred a parking fine whilst visiting our Treatment Centre. We introduced parking controls in order to address the issue of our car park being used by commuters, which was making it difficult for our patients to find a parking space at times. We are aware that on occasions some patients and visitors do not notice the signage which is displayed in the car park and within the Treatment Centre itself. As a patient you are entitled to free parking. Please could you contact Ann Brewin, Operations Manager with the reference number of your parking fine and we will be happy to help you to cancel this.

Thank you

Best wishes
