"Day Surgery at the Royal Berks"

I had a routine operation under full anaesthetic in October 2007. The operation was successful, I had no infection and was favourably impressed by the treatment received. The medical staff and nurses were efficient and pleasant. Only two slight reservations; firstly, although the ward and toilets were generally very clean, there were used tissues from the previous day in the bedside locker, so infection control is still not 100%. Secondly, I felt the details of the procedure should have been explained to me more clearly prior to the operation. That said, based on this experience I would recommend the hospital for day surgery.
