I'm a regular patient at this unit and always been very good I have a great consultant but this time I was over seen by the doctors on Peters ward on the 24th Nov 16 I got placed on a ward and this drs team and them self are terrible at listening and respecting a patients wishes. I went in for vascular issues in my hands, it is painful to touch anything and feels like burning. And I asked plenty of times through my days there for them to not touch my hands and canulate somewhere other then my hands as the veins don't work anyway. Disputed my pleading they ignored and I was lift with blown veins severely bruised hands and in agony they tried 6 times in one sitting and had to recanulate everyday and would not listen. I have been canulated in upper arm and ankles in past and works. Plus had not eaten or drank in 4 days as could not hold a cup and no fluids where given I was not given adiqute pain relief as was throwing up and veins kept blowing. When I asked why they hadn't listened on my last day the dr didn't give any good answer. And I recorded it and later walked out and got a taxi home. The bed side manner and arrogance was immense. I have taken photos of the bruising and attempts and will be taking it further. I sat crying in pain and very little regard was given only one nurse on peters ward cared and tried to get pain relief in me by sugguesting intramuscular morphine injection. On top of that I was being given illoprost a drug that is not liesensed and was nervous about it. And i got told by the dr them self they didn't know much about the drug or what it does side effect wise and neither did the nurses. When I googled it it can have deadly side effects like instant death and heart problems. They where administrating a drug they did not know what it did? It was terrifying. I kno it was an option for me as a last resort but for the dr over seeing the ward to have a patient having a drug they knew nothing about? Disgusting
