"Victoria Cottage Hospital Maryport is a credit to the NHS"

After major hip surgery I was transferred to Maryport Cottage Hospital for several months. After the second major hip surgery I was transferred back for 7-8 weeks until I was fit to come home. I had several months of being hoisted in and out of bed always with care and consideration. I was eventually allowed up and thanks to the physiotherapy team I am now able to walk a short distance. They have been very good explaining and guiding me through exercises. I did not look forward to being in bed for several months but thanks to the caring nursing staff I did not have any depression. The food was good and alternatives were offered. The hospital was very clean, no corner was left untouched.

I found the staff all very pleasant and conscientious, nothing was any trouble for them. My family were told of any change condition and the senior staff explained and answered any questions they had. Anyone who is a patient in Maryport Cottage Hospital is fortunate to have such dedicated staff to look after them.
