"I have just returned home after ..."

About: Salisbury District Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I have just returned home after a two day stay for a unicompartmental knee replacement. My thanks go to the surgeon. and his team and all the nursing staff on Amesbury ward, especially the carer who looked after me as I was coming round from a general anaesthetic. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

What could be improved

The attitude of an over zealous nurse who was very insistant that I leave hospital after 48 hours.

Anything else?

I had the advice of a pain management nurse which wasn't available for the first knee operation last year. As a consequence, I have been in considerably less pain than last time.

Thank you for letting us know about the care you received during your recent stay on the Amesbury Suite. Your comments have been passed on to the team who cared for you.

During the past year, we have introduced a number of changes in the Orthopaedic department: it is good to hear that these have led to an improvement in the care our patients receive.

Thank you once again for your feedback and best wishes for your continued recovery.
