"Excellent communication with child at sheffield children's hospital"

About: Sheffield Children's Hospital / Allergy

(as the patient),

My son went along to the Sheffield Children's Hospital, to the day care ward for treatment for a food allergy. The nurse dealing with my son was very open about the procedures that would take place and she explained clearly what she was going to do, not only to me, but, to my little boy, which I feel helped him to understand and deal with his time on the day care unit.

When we saw a doctor for a routine check I could not understand properly what he was saying because of his broken English. He had to keep repeating himself for me to understand some of the questions. This was a little embarrassing.

I would like to thank Val Bateman the allergy nurse and Dr Fiona Shackley the allergy consultant at the clinic.
