"The ward staff were very friendly ..."

About: King's Mill Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

The ward staff were very friendly and as helpful as they could be, given that I was an unusual case. The room I was given was immaculately clean and quiet.

What could be improved

None of the staff seemed to have any experience whatsoever of administering the test I was in for, so couldn't answer many questions.

Anything else?

The medical staff were apparently junior doctors and literally had to follow print outs of the procedure they were to do. They were entirely charming, courteous and fun, but they didn't seem to have anyone in authority who could advise them. This meant that the first part of the test, which should have taken about 30 minutes, actually took over 4 hours and leave me wondering now about the validity of the results.

No one could give me any idea of how long it would be before I would get the result, and I'm still waiting a month on.

On the positive side, all the staff I encountered were individually cheerful, helpful and did all they could to make my stay as pleasant as possible. I'm only sorry that I didn't have a chance to try the hot meals!
