What I liked
everything. i arrived in a&e with my 16 year old son in agony he collapsed on the floor and was rushed into be seen by a doctor straight away . within 30 mins he had seen a consultant and a surgeon and had an x ray to determine the problem . the nurses were very considerate to us regarding his age and the stress he was under , they thought it was his appendics and because of his age asked if they could transfer us to the royal manchester childrens hosptal . The ambulance was organised efficiently and we was soon on our way to manchester with my son on a morphine drip . When we got to the childrens hospital they turned him away because he was 16 but the ambulance staff were brilliant and waited with us and gave me every confidence i could go back to fairfield where i wanted my son to be treated. This was the only hickup in my sons treatment and i think it was just misunderstanding . when we got back to fairfield we went to a&e and was transfered to the male surgical ward within 15 mins . As soon as we got there the surgical team came and took my son down to theatre . i have to say a big thankyou to all the doctors and nurses who looked after my son after being seriously ill with a burst appendics , the support worker even cleaned a side room at 12pm at night so my son could have his own room and not be on the general ward, being only 16 i am sure this made his stay much easier for him and us . I felt very confident in all the staff and their decisions ,and working in hospital myself know the pressures they are under . i can only congratulate fairfield for the treatment we recieved at a very stressful time.
What could be improved
nothing
Anything else?
a little note the parking is brilliant and quite reasonable
