"I'm enjoying being a PALS Volunteer."

About: North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust

(as a service user),

My health has improved by doing voluntary work in the Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. Not only using my experiences of mental illness, but my experiences of wellbeing and how I got to this time enjoying life.

PALS Service also gives people like myself a choice of involvement in the mental health service. My area is working with People First, an advocasy Service for people with learning difficulties, supporting people to have a better life.

So as well as being treated in the mental health service, I can also provide my experiences and knowledge, for the benefit of my health and many more like me.Its well worth considering if you are interested in becoming involved in this way.

Thank you for your posting, I am really pleased to hear that you are enjoying your volunteering and would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to you for your fabulous contribution. The 1st – 7th June is Volunteers Week, and I am pleased to be accompanying you and my other volunteers to join other organisations across Cumbria in celebrating volunteering.
