A few years ago my husband lost an eye. He had a prosthetic eye made and fitted in the ARI a few years ago. He has since moved overseas to live. Where he lives they have told him that the UK is the best place for him to have his prosthetic eye replaced because they are unable to do this where he is. After contacting the ARI he has been told by the HR department of the Eye Clinic that he is NOT eligible to have this done in the UK. This is a disgrace as he has been a hardworking guy and he served in the forces for 27 years. Why can't he have his prosthetic eye replaced? This is a disgrace. This has also made him very depressed. I am considering taking this to the newspapers.
