I had my operation in June 2016, and can't fault the treatment and care at that time. The staff and nurses were all very helpful, and I found the operation went well with good aftercare. Unfortunately the problems I have encountered are the follow up appointments. Due to family illness I had to cancel an appointment a week ago. I tried ringing the appointments department on the day, and after an hour of being on hold I had to hang up. I did eventually manage to get to speak to someone a few days later after a few more attempts and being on hold for long lengths of time. Another appointment was made for last night at 20.00hrs. I travelled 1 1/4hrs to get there, and arrived just before 20.00hrs. I booked in and sat and waited. 50 minutes later I was the only one left, and the receptionist ask if I had been seen. The receptionist went to see what was happening, and a nurse came back and said "Oh we're you late" I said no, and they said the consultant had gone home. They tried saying someone would have come looking for me, but I can guarantee they didn't. I then had to travel home again in horrible weather for nothing. Very upset with Spire Hospital on this occasion.
