"Excellent care and attention from the breast..."

I brought my frail elderly mother-in-law to the breast clinic with a suspected cancer. She was very scared and anxious. The care she received was exceptional! The clinic was running an hour late, but this ok is because the team were giving patients all the time that they needed. It is impossible to break bad news to someone in ten minutes. We were kept informed of the waiting time which was very helpful. The consultant was amazing and very patient and gave her all the time she needed to ask her questions. She went on to have a mammogram, an ultrasound and a biopsy. Everyone she saw was kind and caring and treated her with the utmost respect and dignity. They gave her time and they gave her confidence. They treated her holistically - as a person, not as a "disease process". By the time she left, she had a clear understanding of the problem and a clear management plan. I cannot recommend the breast unit highly enough. Thank you all for being so caring and understanding, and for giving her the time she needed when you were all so busy.
