"Excellent care at my GP surgery"

About: NHS England London

(as the patient),

I have been attending Wichty Grove GP Practice in Croydon for the last nine years as I suffer from the chronic health condition Fibromyalgia.

As a specialist Nurse for over 35 years in the NHS have come in to contact with many GP surgeries and doctors both personally and professionally but I have to recommend this GP practice to anyone living in S Croydon.

The reception staff are pleasant and friendly and care given by the GPs is superb. In particular praise must go to Dr Clementson who has not only prescribed medication for my fibromyalgia which totally changed my life but in recent years has given me steroid injections for my joints.

Prior to my life changing medication I had over 3 relapses of my fibromyalgia per year which severely limited both my life and my career and I was in constant pain. Since he prescribed Gabapentin for me I have one relapse per year and am extremely fit an healthy and pain free. On a recent holiday I walked 10 miles per day for three weeks. Four years ago I could barely manage to walk to my car and struggled with daily living.

The other doctors in the practice all offer a high standard of care and in an emergency I have been treated promptly and efficiently.

The practice has an air of compassion and caring for its patients which sadly is lost in many inner city GP practices today
