"Emergency department"

About: Queen's Hospital / Accident & emergency

Mum , who is 93, has been brought into hospital on two occasions, having fallen and banged her head. The staff have been very professional, patient and caring. They have examined her thoroughly and organised appropriate tests. On both occasions they discussed the necessary treatment plan with me. The whole department were obviously working under a lot of pressure, from the sheer number of people that they had to deal with, but they were very supportive of both Mum and myself on both visits. I would not hesitate to recommend the emergency department. Parking, however, is a total nightmare. I can understand why people attending the hospital are so stressed and possibly late for their appointments.

Thank you for taking the time to make us aware of you and your mums experience and for providing us with your feedback, following your visit to our Emergency Department at Queen’s Hospital. It is wonderful to hear that all the staff you mum encountered treated her well and were caring and professional towards you both. I will ensure that your comments are passed onto them, thank you once again for taking the time to make us aware of your experience.

Please be assured that the car parking issue is being addressed and we hope to have a resolution shortly.

Yours Sincerely

Kathryn Halford

Chief Nurse
