Thanks to the midwife, we had a fantastic birth. I can't rate them highly enough. The midwife was calm, quiet and seemed to instinctively know what to do and when, the midwife was a great support to both my husband and I. I stayed in for an additional night which was satisfactory. As can be expected, the Nettleham Ward was a little hot and not entirely comfortable but we were well looked after there and the time passed quickly. I would suggest that it would be nicer for mother and baby if the various staff could coordinate their checks as I did find that I had to dress and undress and wake the baby quite frequently but again, this is not the end of the world and passes the time. Overall, the experience was very positive. I had an 'easy' natural birth but the care for the other mums on my ward that had had C-sections or a bad time of it seemed to get a lot of extra care and assistance so I would have no qualms in going back for baby number 2, if we go down that route.
"Wonderful experience"
