"treated with efficiency and when ..."

About: Bristol Royal Infirmary

(as the patient),

What I liked

treated with efficiency and when waiting offered drinks/ apologies and all staff were genuinely very caring and understanding

What could be improved

cleanliness of toilets.often i reported this on several occasions even to the housekeeper on the ward and nothing was done (it had also been recorded in the cleaners manual) but seemed to have been ignored. sanitary bins on the ward i was on were full to the brim for nearly a week without being emptied and this was still there even after i had been discharged. even one of the nursing assistants was going to empty it but told it was not their responsibility.

Anything else?

i am in and out of hospitals on a regular basis and the BRi staff definately are very good.

Response from Bristol Royal Infirmary

Thank you for taking the time to post a comment and we are glad to hear that in the main your experience of the BRI has been a positive one. We are very concerned to hear about the cleanliness issues and have tried to use our records to identify the exact area of the hospital that you raised concerns about. Unfortunately this is quite difficult to do with the limited details available and we haven’t been successful. If you would like to contact our Patient Support & Complaints team (0117 342 3604) to provide some more information about your experience then we would be very happy to investigate this issue further. In the meantime we have passed on your comments to the relevant service managers in the BRI so that they can be aware that this issue occurred during your stay with us. Thank you again for your feedback.
