"Lack of care"

About: Northampton General Hospital (Acute) / Trauma and orthopaedics

My father was admitted to althorp following a hip replacement. When we went to visit, we found him writhing and screaming in pain. The nurses had just put a curtain around him and were standing gossiping and laughing. My sister had to insist on getting a doctor called to prescribe some extra pain relief. Both doctor and staff lacked any kind of empathy and did not display any kind of patient centred care.

We are extremely concerned to read your comments regarding your father's care and would ask that you make contact with Rachel Lovesy, who is our head of patient experience so she can discuss your concerns further with you and then take the matter up with the ward direct on your behalf.

Rachel can be contacted by email Rachel.lovesy@ngh.nhs.uk
