"I needed a scan but they couldn't do one"

I injured my leg at work in Lincoln and went to A&E at Lincoln Hospital. I was seen quite quickly and assessed but when I saw the doctor he feared I had torn my Achilles tendon and said that I needed a scan to confirm it but they couldn't do one because it was after 5pm. They called for an orthopaedic Doctor who came and examined my and said they would need to fit me with a boot but there were none available. He sent me home and said they would call me to a fracture clinic tomorrow to fit me with a boot. I then waited a week for an appointment at the clinic in Grantham. I went for my appointment but waited an hour even though the consultant was in their room and no other patients went in during this time. They then gave me a cursory examination lasting less than 2 minutes. They said that my leg would heel itself without really knowing what I had actually done. He sent me out quickly with a nurse to get a boot fitted and make an appointment to come back in 5 weeks.

I went outside but felt they had not given me a proper diagnosis or information as to how I should recouperate or whether I should go back to work. I asked to see them and ask them some more questions but was told they had left. I came away feeling like I had been talked to like an idiot and brushed off without a proper examination and I had had to wait a week to be treated like this. I had to go to my GP the next day who sent me to A&E in Nottingham to try and be seen again.
