"No Feedback on Eye Clinic Visit."

About: Burnley General Hospital / Ophthalmology

Three weeks ago I went to the Emergency Eye Clinic after my optician detected a problem with my left eye and arranged the appointment within days. I had gone to the opticians because I was experiencing a dark patch in my vision. When I saw the doctor they examined my eyes and said I appeared to have macular degeneration but I couldn't be given a scan because the operator was absent. So a scan was arranged at Blackburn the next day. Since then I have tried repeatedly to find out the results with no success. Either the phone remained unanswered - even when put through from the switchboard or, when I finally got through, I was told the doctor was unavailable and asked to ring back at the end of the week. When I did I could only get a recorded message. When I rang yesterday knowing it was the doctors clinic day I was told they were off ill and they couldn't give me any results. I rang my GP's surgery to see if they could get an answer but they couldn't even get a reply' As I understand it if I have the Wet AMD urgent action is needed. Maybe I haven't, but I need to know. I find it all very unsatisfactory
