"Being treated with a suspected stroke"

At a time of great vulnerability I could not have had a greater feeling of security that I was being looked after by very caring experts. The warmth of greeting and explanation of how I was to be looked after was wonderful and from then on I felt that I was treated with respect and concern. I was admitted on a Saturday and I did feel concern that I would suffer from the ' weekend ' situation I was completely wrong.The care I had was as focussed as any other days of the week, and the scans that I had were completed efficiently in the morning of the Sunday. Following the scans I was soon visited by the consultant who totally impressed me with their manner and their sharp and clear explanation of what I had suffered and why. The whole staff including the nurse who records blood pressure, and the person who changes the water jugs, were good-humoured, friendly and courteous. Also, when a person is scared after being admitted to a stroke ward, they need patience, understanding, and expertise; these qualities were in abundance with the staff on this unit. They have my utmost respect.
