I attended A&E after lunch on 09SEP2016 after advise from the GP! Twyford Surgery. I had fallen on our tiled kichen floor 3/4 weeks earlier. Thinking just a tendon or muscles used my walking stick to walk, using good leg and dragging right foot. My husband fed up with my complaining and taking CoCodamol (have various medical issues with connective tissue). He tel Dr then A&E. Huge wait even after triage. Finally saw brilliant brilliant Dr so so reassuring, should be commended! The doctor gently put me from wheelchair to trolley. After examination sent me immediately to X-ray. Result total Hip Fracture and Pelvis. The doctor was amazing, said might not go in correctly as had no guidance by scan, however with my agreement inserted a Nerve Block to my Hip, yes painful but bliss afterwards!! I was sent to Hunter Ward and Operation next at lunch time! Head Nurse, brilliant plus nursing assistant. Transfered to Emmer Green ward, highly praise Head Nurse! Now have total titanium Full Hip Replacement and doing well two weeks on! Thanks to the wonderful staff at RHB!
